Gas Tanks Project in Burum Gas Facility – Hadhramawt
Yemen LNG Company, represented by the executive general manager Mohsin Hamad Wuhait, was keen on finding strategic gas reserves in Burum gas facility in Hadhramawt, which will resolve any future domestic gas problems. This will also ensure the development of the gas facility in the governorate fully independently, which makes it capable and scalable in the future in in-demand fields such as:-
- storing gas (storage volume estimates are about 600 metric tonnes of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG)).
- receiving gas from the tankers and unloading them to the tanks as well as loading trailers and bobtails.
- receiving imported gas and unloading the ships to the tanks or to the trailers directly.
- the possibility of exporting gas and loading ships from the trailers straightaway or through the tanks.
Key Components of the Project:
LPG MOUNDED BULLETS STORAGE:
- Four tanks (mounded bullets) received from Yemen LNG
- Nominal Capacity: 341.8 m3 per tank
- Working Capacity: 281.3 m3 per tank
- The working capacity of the tanks is calculated by dividing the metric tonnes by the density of gas, pure propane, pure butane, or the mixture of propane and butane (LPG) and their percentage change in the mixture.
Tanks capacity:
capacity of 598.6 metric tonne
equivalent to 23.94 tankers
equivalent to 51479.6 cylinders
- The extensions of loading and unloading the tanks and the coupling joints between the four tanks so they function as one storage unit, with the possibility of disconnecting each tank when needed or in case of maintenance. All other fittings are provided and installed.
- Gas pumps and compressors, equipment, pressure and heat gauges, pressure and flow valves, filters, etc.
- LPG loading and unloading manifold equipment and loading docks for loading trailers
- A unit for adding mercaptan with its fittings when necessary
- Fire protection and safety system
- Concrete and metal works such as the support pillars and roller chairs for the pipelines and equipment in addition to the hangers and safe rooms.
- Axle scale for weighing trailers
- Extensions and fittings of return lines
- Drainage components for regular use and maintenance as well as waterways of rain and others
- Lightning protection and alert system
- Cathodic protection of tanks and pipelines
The tanks were delivered to Hadhramawt’s gas facility in April 2023.
